The Creator Social Audit

Understand What Your Content Is Doing—and What’s Missing

Your content shouldn’t just fill a feed. It should help new people discover you, give them a reason to trust you and turn casual followers into a genuine community.

But when you’re constantly creating, it can be difficult to step back and see whether that’s actually happening.

The Creator Social Audit gives you an expert, outside perspective on your content: what’s working, where the gaps are and what you should focus on next.

It’s built around the Smith & Scale approach: combining the strategic discipline of brand marketing with the practical reality of building something personal, useful and sustainable as a creator.

You Don’t Need More Generic Content Advice

You already know you’re supposed to post consistently, create strong hooks and make more Reels.

That advice isn’t necessarily wrong. It just doesn’t tell you whether your content is supporting the kind of creator business you actually want to build.

You may be publishing regularly but still wondering:

  • Why aren’t more new people finding me?

  • Does my profile make it clear why someone should follow?

  • Am I giving my audience enough reason to trust me?

  • Why do some posts perform well without leading anywhere?

  • Is my content building a community—or simply generating views?

  • What should I focus on over the next 30 days?

The Creator Social Audit helps answer those questions without reducing your work to vanity metrics or one-size-fits-all formulas.

A Different Way to Evaluate Your Content

Most social media audits focus heavily on follower counts, engagement rates and whether you’re following current best practices.

Those numbers matter—but they don’t tell the whole story.

The Smith & Scale approach looks at both sides of the equation: the strategic foundations that help content perform and the human connection that makes people want to stay.

I evaluate your content through three roles it needs to play:

Discovery

Does your content help the right new people find you and quickly understand why they should care?

Trust

Does your content demonstrate your expertise, perspective and value in a way that gives people a reason to keep listening?

Community

Does your content make followers feel connected to you, to your work and to one another?

Strong creator brands need all three. Your audit will show you where your content is strongest, where it is out of balance and what may be preventing you from moving forward.

What You’ll Walk Away With

Your Creator Social Audit includes:

  • A review of your primary social media channel

  • An assessment across Discovery, Trust and Community (our proprietary framework)

  • A review of your bio, positioning and audience promise

  • Analysis of approximately 30 recent posts

  • Identification of your content strengths, gaps and missed opportunities

  • Five prioritized recommendations

  • A written 30-day action plan

  • A private 60-minute review call

This isn’t a list of dozens of disconnected suggestions. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what matters most and a realistic plan for acting on it.

The recommendations will balance what is strategically sound with what is realistic for you to create, maintain and grow.

What’s Included

By the end of the audit, you’ll know:

  • What your strongest content is doing well

  • Which role each part of your content should play

  • Where your current strategy has gaps

  • What may be confusing or limiting your audience

  • Which opportunities are worth pursuing

  • What to prioritize during the next 30 days

The goal isn’t to give you more content to make.

It’s to help you make better decisions about the content you’re already creating—and build a stronger foundation for sustainable growth.

How It Works

1. Tell me about your work

You’ll complete a short questionnaire about your audience, content, and goals.

2. I review your channel

I’ll examine your profile and approximately 30 recent posts through the lens of Discovery, Trust and Community, while considering how your content supports the larger business you’re building.

3. You receive your audit

You’ll receive a clear written assessment, five prioritized recommendations and a personalized action plan.

4. We talk it through

We’ll meet for 60 minutes to review the findings, discuss your questions and make sure you know what to do next.

This Is For You If…

  • You create content consistently but feel unsure about the larger strategy

  • Your content gets engagement without producing meaningful growth

  • You’re struggling to decide what to post and why

  • You want to strengthen your positioning or audience connection

  • You’re building a creator-led business, service, product or community

  • You want experienced feedback—not another generic checklist

  • You want a strategy that is both commercially thoughtful and true to the way you work

You do not need a huge audience or a perfectly polished brand.

You do need an existing body of content to review and a willingness to make strategic changes.

About Me

I’m Frank Smith, a social media and content strategist with experience on both sides of the creator economy.

I spent nearly a decade leading social media for a major consumer brand, where my work helped generate millions of engagements and more than $18 million in attributed revenue. I’m also the co-founder of Inquiring Chef, a creator-led food business my wife and I have built for more than 15 years.

That combination is the foundation of Smith & Scale. I understand how marketers evaluate content, but I also understand what it’s like to build an audience, earn trust and turn creative work into a sustainable business over time.

I created the Discovery, Trust and Community framework because creators need a strategy designed around relationships—not simply a marketing funnel borrowed from brands.

The work is about bringing the best of both worlds together: enough structure to make better decisions, without losing the personality and perspective that make creator-led businesses worth following.
